Japan/North Korea/Abudction

The Yomiuri Shimbun

The husband of Megumi Yokota, who was abducted by North Korea, was most likely a South Korean who was also abducted to North Korea, according to the results of a DNA test.

This shows once again the inhuman acts to which North Korea will stoop.

Without showing the least sincerity in working toward a resolution of the abduction issue, North Korea has repeatedly made false explanations on all aspects of the matter.

The number of South Koreans abducted to North Korea totals 485.yomiuriApr. 12, 2006

"Whether North Korea will treat this issue with a sincere attitude would affect other problems lying between Japan and North Korea," Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said.

"South Korea has more people believed to be abducted than Japan. We should have more cooperation with South Korea," Koizumi said. "Abduction is an unforgivable crime."AFP

言葉はいいんだけど、実効性がないんだよね、この件に関しては。

Yokota's case is an emotional topic in Japan.

横田さんのケースはemotional なtopicだといってますけど、もちろん感情的な話題ではありますが同時に人権問題、人の命がかかっているってことわかっているんですかね。
