Japanese/American/friendship

American returning home after more than 50 years in Japan
Campanella came to Japan in 1945 as a member of the U.S. military forces.
One of his first volunteer activities was working with Kobe Boy's Town, an orphanage in Tarumi Ward built by the Allied Occupation forces. He has also served as president of the Boy Scouts of America's Far East Council
he organized annual year-end fund-raising drives to help people in the community, especially seniors without an income or annual pension. He also helped the Kobe municipal government manage foreign cemeteries.

感動的な話しだなあ、こういう人いるんだなよなあ。涙もんです。アメリカ人のなんていうのかmissionのようなボランティア精神には頭が下がります。

The governor of Hyogo Prefecture and more than 10 business, friendship and other organizations in which he has participated each held a farewell party for him

仲間の人たち、温かく送り出してあげてください。
